Hoje faz 35 anos que se iniciou o primeiro festival de Jazz em Portugal e logo com um cartaz assustador, com nomes como Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, Gary Bartz, Don Alias, Ornette Coleman, Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden, Dexter Gordon, Thelonious Monk e Dizzy Gillespie. Foi certamente memorável por razões musicais, mas também o foi por outras, tantas vezes ligadas à música, veículo para a expressão de sentimentos e emoções humanas.

Joseph Georg Kornhäusel (* 13. November 1782 in Wien; † 31. Oktober 1860 ebenda) war ein österreichischer Architekt. Er gilt als herausragender Architekt der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts und als einer der wichtigsten österreichischen Vertreter des Klassizismus, den er mit lokalen Traditionen verbindet. Sowohl die dem Donaukanal zugewandte Seite der Inneren Stadt von Wien als auch Baden bei Wien sind wesentlich von ihm geprägt.

A World Of Music

The nominated artists were announced on Friday 27 October 2006 at WOMEX (the World Music trade fair) in Seville, Spain.

The nominees have been voted for by the delegates of WOMEX.

The Album of the Year category is decided by a world panel of critics organised by fRoots Magazine and voting for the final category, the Audience Award, opens on 1 January 2007.

The winners will be announced on 31 March 2007 on Radio 3's World Routes programme and the Winners' Concert will be held on Sunday 27 May 2007 at the Barbican in London, when the winner of the Audience Award will also be announced.
