Franz Schubert

Franz Peter Schubert (January 31, 1797 – November 19, 1828), was an Austrian composer, considered the last master of the Viennese Classical school and one of the earliest proponents of musical Romanticism.

Although he died at the young age of 31, he wrote some six hundred "lieder", as well as many symphonies, sonatas, string quartets and many other works. With a natural flair for melodies and lyricism, Schubert is counted among the most gifted composers of the 19th century.

Rock Me Amadeus

Er war ein punker
Und er lebte in der großen stadt
Es war in wien, war in vienna
Wo er alles tat
Er hatte schulden denn er trank
Doch ihn liebten alle frauen
Und jede rief:
Come and rock me amadeus

Er war superstar
Er war populär
Er war so exaltiert
Because er hatte flair
Er war ein virtuose
War ein rockidol
Und alles rief:
Come and rock me amadeus
Amadeus, amadeus...

Es war um 1780
Und es war in wien
No plastic money anymore
Die banken gegen ihn
Woher die schulden kamen
War wohl jedermann bekannt
Er war ein mann der frauen
Frauen liebten seinen punk

Er war superstar
Er war so populär
Er war zu exaltiert
Genau das war sein flair
Er war ein virtuose
War ein rockidol
und alles ruft noch heute:
Come and rock me amadeus
Amadeus, amadeus...

Stéphane Grappelli - Un violon pour tout bagage

Stéphane Grappelli (January 26, 1908 – December 1, 1997) was a pioneer jazz violinist who founded the "Quintette du Hot Club de France" with Django Reinhardt. It was the first all-string jazz band.
He was born in Paris, France to Italian parents and started his musical career as a silent film pianist. He attended the Conservatoire de Paris between 1924 and 1928.
After his career with Reinhardt, he appeared on hundreds of recordings including sessions with jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty, vibraphonist Gary Burton, pop singer Paul Simon, mandolin player David Grisman, rock band Pink Floyd, classical violinist Yehudi Menuhin and orchestral conductor André Previn.

In the summer of 1991, at the Jazz Festival at Juan-les-Pins, Jazz à Juan, I had the privilege to see and hear Stéphane Grappelli play. And, without exaggeration, I have to say it was one of the most marvellous concerts I’ve ever seen. First - the place it self, second – a beautiful summer night. First a “Super-group” with Didier Lockwood, Birelli Lagrene, Christian Escoude, Babick Reinhardt and others (I believe it was a Septet) – a big show on a huge stage, with lots of lights and sounds and special effects – it was great, and the audience loved it. Then a small break and afterwards – an old man and his violin, a guitar and a double bass, just one spot light and the magic of the music, nothing more and nothing less – I’ve never seen an audience that enthusiastic, that emotional, that grateful. It was truly unforgettable. Thank You, Stéphane.

Chega De Saudade

Antonio Carlos Jobim (born Antonio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim, January 25, 1927 in Rio de Janeiro – December 8, 1994 in New York City), was a Brazilian composer, arranger, singer, pianist and is perhaps the greatest legend of bossa nova. Jobim's compositions, many performed by João Gilberto, gave birth to the genre in the early 1960s. Jobim's breakthrough outside Brazil occurred in 1962 when Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd discovered a surprise hit with his tune "Desafinado", and later that year, he and several other Brazilian musicians were invited to participate in a Carnegie Hall showcase. Countless artists have covered Jobim compositions like "The Girl From Ipanema", "Desafinado", "Chega De Saudade", "One Note Samba", "Corcovado", "Insensatez", "Triste", "A Felicidade", "Wave", "Águas De Março" and many others.

Inverno

O inverno deve ser com neve. Inverno tem que ser com neve. A neve é o que justifica a existência do próprio inverno! A existência do frio!

There was very little snow in Carinthia this year. Very little. During the time I spent there it only had been snowing three days in a row, then the sun came out for almost two days, after which it started snowing again for another to days without stopping...
Here's some evidence:

This was (once again) our favorite place to stop for a snack during a day of skiing.

Descubra as diferenças:
