Festival Imigrarte - 2008

Nos próximos dias 18, 19 e 20 de Abril na cidade de Lisboa vai se realizar a 2º edição do Festival Imigrarte.

O Festival é uma iniciativa da Associação Solidariedade Imigrante , e tem o objectivo de utilizar a arte como meio de diálogo e de comunicação entre a sociedade civil portuguesa e a sociedade estrangeira de diferentes origens e culturas, e também trazer à tona a temática imigrante na luta pelos seus
direitos.

É um Festival a custo zero, que envolverá diversos tipos de artes, espaços e pessoas que são sensíveis a esta causa. Felizmente a edição deste ano do Festival Imigrarte cresceu em espaços, propostas e diversidade.

Muitos espaços da Baixa de Lisboa até Areeiro vão ser envolvidos com diferentes actividades como debates, exposições e concertos temáticos.

Malcolm Lowry (1909-1957), poeta inglês, deambulou pelo mundo e pelos bares (o título Cantinas é, aliás, inspirado nos bares mexicanos). Viveu uma vida curta e intensa. Tinha uma escrita crua, violenta, mas também bela e visual.

We Sit Unhackled, Drunk and Mad to Edit

Notions of freedom are tied up with drink.
Our ideal life contains a tavern
Where man may sit and talk or just think
All without fear of the nighted wyvern;
Or yet another tavern where it appears
There are no No Trust signs, no No Credit.
And, apart from the unlimited beers,
We sit unhackled, drunk and mad to edit
Tracts of a really better land where one
May drink a finer, ah, an undistilled wine,
That subtly intoxicates without pain,
Weaving the vision of the unassimilable inn
Where we may drink forever without owing
With the door open, and the wind blowing.

Thomas Gansch (born December 31, 1975 in St. Pölten) is an Austrian trumpetplayer.

In 1992 the brass septet Mnozil Brass was founded where he plays 1st trumpet. In 1999 he was invited to join the Vienna Art Orchestra.
He also founded the band Gansch&Roses
.
Thomas Gansch performs on a curious looking, self designed trumpet by manufacturer Schagerl from Austria.
